1.0 Submission Guidelines
1.1 Theme
- Submissions should resonate with the core themes of EGCON 2025, highlighting geology’s beauty, intricacies, and its connection to the environment.
- The photograph should reflect one or more aspects of observational science, capturing moments that are unique, poignant, or surreal.
- Each photograph must be accompanied by a title and thoughtful and evocative caption that enhances its narrative. The caption should inspire nature lovers and provoke curiosity about the subject.
- The caption must be limited to 30 words.
- All submissions must be original, and not submitted for any other competition.
- High-resolution images in JPEG or PNG format
- Minimum 300 dpi.
- Maximum file size: 20 MB.
2.1 Eligibility
- The competition is open to all professionals associated with the central theme of the conference.
- The entries will be assessed based on creativity, relevance to the theme, visual impact, and the story conveyed through the image and caption.
- The entries will be displayed prominently on a dedicated screen in the common area during the conference.
- The entries will be published in the Special 60 Years Celebration Publication that would be released during the inauguration of the conference.
- The entries, therefore, would be available on-screen and in print for evaluation throughout the conference.
- While the attending participants of the conference shall be invited to vote on the entries, the Jury will make the final assessment and decide the winners.
- The copyright of the photograph will remain with the participant. However, by submitting the photograph, the participant grants the organizers the right to use it for promotional purposes related to the conference, with due credit.
- Digital manipulation or editing that alters the photograph’s authenticity is not permitted. Adjustments limited to cropping, brightness, contrast, and minor colour corrections are allowed.
- Submissions violating copyright or originality rules will be disqualified.
- The accepted entries will be displayed prominently during EGCON 2025.
- The accepted entries will be featured in the 'ISEG Diamond Jubilee Special Publication' - A coffee table type of publication.
- The top five attending participants would receive a citation, and a prize of INR 10,000 each.
- The top five non-attending participants will receive a citation.
- In case of multiple entries by a participant, only one will be eligible for the award. Other entries may still be considered for display and publication.
- The decision of the Jury will be final and binding.
- Submissions close on 30 September 2025.
